Gramps,

I admire the the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints a great deal. But I am not sure if I am ready to become a believer. I would love to be a witness to the truth. What would you recommend I do?

Derek,

kneeling in prayer If you haven’t done so before, I would suggest kneeling in private prayer to Heavenly Father for guidance. Even if you merely hope to believe, it is a great starting point. I would also suggest obtaining a copy of the Book of Mormon either from missionaries in your area, or from LDS.org where you can have one mailed to you for free. Read through it prayerfully and pay attention to how you feel as you do so. The only sure way to learn spiritual truth is to ask God in prayer. As you explore the Book of Mormon and learn more about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints you will be led to the truths God has prepared for you.
