Question

Hi Gramps,

Will the Church bend to homosexual pressure and allow openly gay men into the priesthood? The RLDS have done so. I’m fearful of it.

Josh

Answer

Josh,

The priesthood is given to all worthy male members of the Church. Someone that has violated the Law of Chastity is not worthy to be given (or to exercise it, if already given) the Priesthood.

Please note that the church is very clear on the difference between being tempted (which we all are including Christ) and acting on that temptation which is sin.

If one transgresses the Law of Chastity they can repent and become again worthy to be given (or exercise) the Priesthood.
