Question

Dear Gramps,

My 20-year-old daughter had a child without being married. She kept her son, has remained active in the Mormon Church, and was told by the Bishop that she could take the temple preparation classes to ready herself for going to the temple. My question is, can she have her son sealed to her?

Candi

Answer

Dear Candi,

Children may only be sealed to a father and a mother. Your daughter is to be congratulated on becoming worthy to go to the temple. The time will come when she will find a companion, and if they are married in the temple, then would be the time to have her son sealed to his mother and her husband.
