Dear Gramps,

From which of the Twelve Tribes of Israel did Moses descend?

Lindsay, from Minnesota

Dear Lindsay,

Moses, who lived for 120 years, was born in the year 1571 BC. His father was Amran, who was born in 1646, and who lived for 177 years. Amran’s father was Korath, who was born in 1735 and lived for 130 years. Korath’s father was Levi, who was the third son of Jacob. Leah was his mother. So Moses was of the tribe of Levi.
