I am a High Priest Group Leader and among my group I have older members who are from the Elders Quorum. They have been told that if they feel more comfortable meeting with the High Priests instead of with the younger Elders Quorum because of their age, they can do.  Their ages are 45+ .Is this policy written down somewhere. I hope that you can help.I have seen this done in other Wards too, so our Ward is not a one off.

Hi David –

Mormon Church handbookThe policy appears to be rooted in Church Handbook of Instructions, Book 2, Section 7.8.1, which reads in part:

The bishop may authorize an elder to meet with the high priests group if such an arrangement will be beneficial for the elder.
