59 And after they have paid the penalty of their transgressions, and are washed clean, shall receive a reward according to their works, for they are heirs of salvation.”

We Mormons tend to think “ordinances of the house of God” refers exclusively to temple ordinances. I think not. My town has ordinances. Bylaws, etc. When the Savior said, “In my father’s house are many mansions” he was not speaking of the temple, was he, but of heaven. The ordinances of the Celestial kingdom are different from those for the Telestial, no?

Outer Darkness, of course, is not a kingdom of God, but “their own place.” The only law there is, I presume, the law of the jungle. Some people enjoy that. (D&C 88:32)

Joseph also saw his parents in the vision, and his parents were still alive at the time.
