While it has been some time since this question was presented and the response was provided, I would like to add a few comments. Most members of the church when they hear or read about the creation sequence come away with the impression that after the creation and the Gods rested on the seventh day, that the creation sequence ceased. It most certainly did not cease. After the fall of Adam and Eve, the creation continued on this earth, but it was now a partnership between God and mankind. Rather than a spiritual creation, as is depicted in Genesis of the Old Testament, our participation here on earth is physical.

One does not have to look too far to see that there are significant challenges for single parents as they relate to rearing children. God wanted, and still wants, a stable home where a child can be nurtured physically and spiritually. By having sexual intercourse prior to marriage one runs the risk of having a child out of wedlock.

If you have not heard this before, let me tell you that sex is wonderful! God made it that way. Satan, after he linked up with Cain was instructed by Cain about the sensations the body experiences. (Where Satan did not have a physical body, he did not have an understanding, but as a quick learner, he distorted its use and has been promoting it in a corrupted form for years.)

God, our creator, endowed us with all the senses and sensations we are capable of experiencing. Not only was sexual intercourse, and its peripheral activities, to be used for procreation, it was to be used to enhance intimacy and help a couple grow closer (a process that comes with the injunction that a married man and woman become as one). So, please understand that Sex is okay with God. He just wants us to wait and have it in the framework He established.

I believe that Brigham Young made the statement that, "A man who does not look upon a woman is not worth his salt. But a man who looks on a woman with lust, is not worth his salt either." Now that is a paraphrase on my part, and don't ask me for the reference. . .

So, you are probably asking, "What is my point?" I do not know if anonymous is male or female. If you are a female please do not get into a mode of thinking that sex is dirty, or that the functions of the body are vulgar. They are not. If you have a problem with this, please obtain the book, "And They Were Not Ashamed," by Joyce Brotherson. As an LDS author, she hits the nail on the head. This should be required reading for Bishops and Stake Presidents. And even if you are married, it is a great joint read that touches on the physical and spiritual elements of becoming one together and with the Lord.

I have a son who made the decision to marry outside the church. He did not want to marry a dysfunctional LDS girl who did not like sex. Most marriages that fail, even in the church, are due to this issue.

Ultimately, you should be able to look at a member of the opposite gender and see him or her as a child of God in the heavenly context. At some point in your life you will have to be able to look upon a woman without lust and just admire the workmanship of God. In the highest echelons of heaven the spirits are nude. This is symbolic of innocence. Somehow this was taught before the truth was corrupted and artists of the middle ages depicted angels in this very condition. I am prepared to provide a reference for the nude in heaven.

You should be able to tell how a statue, painting, movie with nudity, or a streaker influences your thinking. If you are around people who push modesty to the limits, learn to love the sinner and hate the sin.

Best wishes in this
