While I suppose apologetic sites could be useful in some circumstances, one thing I find disturbing on a number of them related with LDS topics is the great lengths some members of our church go to in order to slander certain people who openly disagree with the church and its doctrine.

I not only find this most un-Christlike, but I also find many of our members follow suit and act this same way in the way they interact with people online who do not think the way we do. While we are free to have our own opinions, cyber-stalking those who disagree with us, posting terrible things to make them look bad, and twisting their words only makes us stoop to the same level.

One scripture comes to mind when thinking about this:

1 Timothy 4:12

"...be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity."

Some apologetics seem to lack the most important thing I see in this same verse above: CHARITY.

I also think Gramps points out one REALLY important thing when he says:

"But do understand the Lord’s way of learning truth is through spiritual witness, so that one can gain a testimony and act on faith."

Why rely on apologetics when we can go to the SOURCE OF ALL KNOWLEDGE in humble prayer? Or do we have to much pride to get down on our knees and ask?

There is also another great scripture we would do well to heed:

Jeremiah 17:5

"Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord."

I think that really says it all.
