If Jesus gave the keys directly to Peter (“I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it. 19″I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.” ) What happened to the ‘ keys’ given to Peter and the apostolic succession in the RC church? You say that the early church broke away from what had been intended but surely if Jesus entrusted the keys to Peter, then how can we dismiss the church he founded. If we day that we have to trust the prophet because he has been ordained by God to give us revelations, then surely that would apply to Peter and his and his successors ordinations too. How can any human take away that ordination and power? I agree that many churches strayed from the path, but most religions follow blindly and don’t see the wood in their own eyes when given strong charismatic leaders. Where do we draw the line between genuine and warranted criticism and apostasy in any religion>

Sure. Keys of the resurrection, keys of creation, keys to giving someone a spirit body, etc.

Yes, I have heard about the key to resurrection being one that Christ holds. Do you think the power to forgive sins might also be a priesthood key?
