Sometimes (unbeknownst to everyone but the Lord) one calling is a preparation for another calling which the Lord has in mind down the road. Most men called to be bishop have experience in some calling other where they have learned about church administration and programs, and have learned a bit about counsel, guidance, and inspiration, etc. Young men presidency, Elders Quorum presidency, counselor in a bishopric, or ward clerk are often places where such preparation can occur.]]></description>

					<description><![CDATA[I don&#039;t recall that any of my bishops have previously served on the High Council--well, except for my last  bishop, but that&#039;s only because he was a bishop once before, THEN he served on the High Council (and years later was called to be a bishop again). My current bishop was a counselor to the previous 2  bishops.  It has always seemed to me that men are called to serve on the High Council AFTER they have been a bishop. At least that&#039;s the way it seems to work in my stake.]]></description>
