I had a church member inmate tell me that every Sunday in his cell, he blesses and partakes of the Sacrament for himself. I didn’t know where to start to tell him what was wrong with that.

The church and the priesthood operate under a structure, and nobody is out alone by themselves, if their names are on the records of a ward or branch they must consult with the respective priesthood authorities. It is the same if they are part of a group or district operating under a mission, region, or area. I don’t believe they have the general unassigned members anymore who were under the direct jurisdiction of a general authority, but if they still do, they must seek counsel from the appropriate priesthood leader. If they don’t believe they are part of a sanctioned church element, they need to contact church headquarters for information and guidance. Such baptisms do happen, but they happen under the proper order.
