Excellent and I expect the prohibitions on women holding the priesthood and same gender relationships will also change with time. After all most of us know very spiritual people who fall into these categories and less spiritual people who would condemn.
Excellent response. I wish the Church would clearly lay out to the Saints that the priesthood ban was a mistake instead of, "we do don't really know why"? They should leave no doubt in any faithful saint's mind. It was a mistake made by Brigham Young. The curse of Cain application to African blacks was wrong (that theory was a false doctrine started by the evangelical protestants in the southern states of the United States. It was made up to justify enslaving others. The history of the entire saga is very interesting to read. And it was not generally accepted outside of the Southern United States.)
And admit that the treatment of native Americans was shameful. And that suggesting that their skin would lighten as they grew more righteous was wrong in every way possible.
An issue of a full apology for these things would put an end to all of this.
Unfortunately most LDS still believe the priesthood ban was of God. And the "white and delightsome" is still alive and well in my opinion.
