I think it’s well to say that we do indeed have a Heavenly Mother simply because for the SISTERS, as God (and his ‘better half’) is, (wo)man may become. Else it’d defy the concept of Eternal Marriage, if our Heavenly Father is the Eternal Bachelor, and never mind His “Only Begotten”. I don’t think so. Families can be ‘Forever’, and what better example would there be?
However, not only I lack revelation to say anything further about HM, the last thing I’d want to do is to get on our HF’s ‘crap’ list by ‘dissing’ Her. So, if beyond a quiet acknowledgement that She exists, but that’s all we know, we have nothing else, then out of respect, we should let the matter rest. Call it a ‘need to know’ thing…and with respect to HM, we DON’T.

In reply to Frank. I can see that this might be true. Polygamy is doctrine, why would there not be more then one Heavenly Mother? I wonder if we are drawn to certain types of people, spirits, because maybe we came from same heavenly mother? Just speculation. We talked about this on my mission.

In reply to Juan. Really so you are one that believes that Gods words are only recorded in "the Bible", so what about all the documents that was not chosen to be part of the Bible but are still in the Vatican archives.

I’ve often wondered, and this is pure speculation, if there aren’t many Mothers in Heaven for the different inhabitants of the Earth. That is, considering the possibility of polygamy in Heaven which we know will be the case with men being able to be sealed to more than one wife. If that were true, that there are multiple Mothers in Heaven, I could see the hesitancy of revealing more about our many Mothers and who belongs to whom here on Earth. People may create class distinctions out of the information and it would greatly confuse many who struggle with just the little bit of knowledge we already have. How do you teach about all of them as part of the Gospel? It greatly muddies the waters when trying to keep our focus on Christ. Again, this is all just speculation on my part.

It always interests me that when something of a sacred nature is not discussed openly it is labeled secret. In this day and age when so many people believe that knowing everything about everyone is a positive thing, I would like to state that I object to this flaunting of self. There are many sacred and special things in my heart that I share with few people. I do not wish these things to be mocked or ridiculed. I can only imagine how Heavenly Father hurts when his own name and his son’s name, Jesus Christ, are used in a derogatory manner (in vain). I am grateful that he protects Heavenly Mother’s name. Try mentioning that there is a Heavenly Mother to a person outside the church. They don’t believe she exists and will mock you for believing so. Or they will tell you that Mary, Jesus’ mother is the same person. We do not see much today held as sacred with respect. I’m all for holding Heavenly Mother’s name sacred.

You have to add words to Mormon scripture AND the Bible to make your doctrine work. And if you are honest and know scripture, know it is both a false doctrine and if the devil.

Many years ago, I read or listened to a talk (don’t remember my source) that indicated a good reason why our Heavenly Mother is not discussed…and that is because our Heavenly Father treasures her so greatly, he does not want her name defiled as is now done by so many who use our Heavenly Father’s name in vain so frequently and with no shame. I don’t think he would sit idly by listening to his companion’s name being defiled like His; thus, why we have so little information. Until the Lord decides otherwise, I am content with what Gramps has indicated along with these words I once heard or read.
