Going though one myself, be careful. I go do stuff with "friends" and just "hang" even though i'm over 40. My wife left me and the church. But to say that divorced people in the church are ostracized" that is fully an understatement. I have lost friends who wont even acknowledge me at church anymore although many know the situation and that i still remain active and she has left the church. I find some people are very judgemental. "Oh you're divorced? youre damaged goods" Even one friend whos been divorced, his first Sunday in the ward, a lady came up to him and asked if he was married he said he was going through a divorce. She said "oh, well. . . nice to meet you." and left.

In reply to <a href="https://askgramps.org/considered-adultery-date-divorce-final/#comment-34933">Patrick Hussey</a>.

Patrick, Whereas, it's understandable how you might perceive that, when someone does something against God's law, which dating while separated (still, legally married) is, even, if there's no sexual contact, the Spirit IS grieved (gone against) & does withdraw according to Scripture. The husband in this particular situation may not realize this or, perhaps, knows it but does not care. He will be held accountable for his actions. The wife, obviously, knows dating before legally divorced is a transgression against the laws & commands of Heavenly Father. It's surprising how many people think it's acceptable to date while separated (even, legally separated) but it's not & they should wait until legally divorced. Also, they might want to consider the wisdom of not "going from the frying pan to the fire too soon".
