Rather than being born someplace as a reward or a penalty consider that our Lord is more interested in what we become then what we are or who we were. The mortal world is not designed to be fair or ‘right’ but a testing ground where we can show who we choose to be.

There are very righteous people who were not born under the covenant but are strong members of the church. I have been a member of the Church all my life and was not born under the covenant. I am not saying that I am a really great spirit because I don’t remember what I was like. I know some very righteous people who were not BIC. I recently found out I have Black ancestry from a DNA test–not a lot but more than a drop. What does that say about me? I think the important thing is to live worthily.

Gramps, I was so rebellious (but not enough to follow Lucifer) that the Lord determined I needed to be placed in a family here on earth that would give me a fighting chance to return to Him. While absolutely every spirit that has been slated to come to earth is loved and cherished by the Lord, He is incredibly pleased when we elect to love Him and our neighbor; and make an effort to return to Him and our Father in Heaven.
