Question

Gramps,

Does everyone get the same name in an endowment session, including when you go through for yourself?

Sarah

Answer

Dear Sarah,

With the hundreds and thousands of questions I receive, I am, now and then, faced with the difficult task to be selective and take a trepidatious approach to answer a few like this particular question.

There are a few questions that are so sacred in nature, I have made a covenant not to discuss outside the temple walls. This, my dear friend, is one of them!

I am pleased that your inquisitive mind wants to know and I encourage you to either, talk to your bishop with an open mind, ask him about how to find an answer to this question (or any others like this), or, ask your nearest temple president.

If you’re not endowed, perhaps you can visit the official website where you will find more information for “The Temple Endowment” and perhaps answer some of those questions.

I do warn you, please do exercise caution when dealing with sacred topics such as temple rites. Lucifer delights when we treat these with a lackadaisical irreverence. We want to please God, and not Lucifer.

With much love,

Gramps
