Hello Gramps, I wonder why is it if anyone else is "anointed" by someone else they cannot be that person?? If you do some further research you will find that the Hebrew manuscript evidence is split on "me" or "him" in Zechariah 12:10. Why do we know "him" is more likely? How did John understand that text?

All translations, including the King James Version, show John here translating Zechariah 12:10 as "They shall look upon him [or `the one'] whom they pierced." So we have this Apostle and inspired Bible writer telling us plainly that Zechariah 12:10 should read: "They shall look upon him (not `me')." So Jehovah is speaking in Zechariah 12:10 of someone else who will be pierced - not Himself!
