I have to respectfully disagree - there are times when it is possible to be angry without known reasons. It's not always about lack of control over one's own emotional state.

- Neurological: Depression, PTSD, bipolar are all examples. Not all PTSD is from the battlefield. It can come from other places.
- Physical: Puberty and brain damage are two examples. There those who have suffered severe physical trauma that can cause synapses to misfire, or reduction or increase of adrenaline and dopamine, which can cause anger issues. During puberty, particularly amongst males, the flood of hormones famously are attributed to a number of things like increase in hunger and mood swings. Illnesses such as cancer can also impact adrenal glands.

These are just examples. In all cases, including if it is seeking better control over one's own emotional state, seek help from a loving Heavenly Father through prayer and scripture study, seek medical help if needed, and reach out to family members.

As someone who suffers from bipolar disorder, I would recommend seeking professional help if you really can't get your temper under control. In my teens I saw a counselor who said my outbursts were just "normal teenage angst". For years I thought I was just a bad person who couldn't control my temper. I was finally diagnosed with bipolar disorder in my 30's and what a difference having that diagnosis made! I was able to get the help I needed and my life (and the lives of those around me) is so much better for it. If identifying the things that make you angry doesn't help, or there really doesn't seem to be any particular trigger, then I definitely recommend seeking professional help.

Your answer is excellent PROVIDING the issue is just anger from unacknowledged causes and not an underlying mental illness, such as paranoid schizophrenia.

Actually, it is possible for someone to get angry for no reason, though rare. If this is really what’s happening to you, I highly recommend you seek help from a medical professional. It could be a sign of depression, bipolar disorder, or worse.

Good luck, Nathan, and God bless!

Sometimes, we are like a little fury-bomb just waiting to go off. But there's always a reason for it - we often don't even know what it is. It's not that we get angry for no reason, more that it's that one thing that proves to be the last straw.
More often than not, there is something we have experienced but never expressed that fills up that reservoir of anger within us. You may need some help to discover what exactly is in that reservoir. Did you feel anger or resentment to something in the past? Perhaps you were not in a position to express it.
When you discover the source, you can empty that reservoir and begin filling it up with something a lot more positive!
