Hi Karen to answer your questions.

1. No
we don’t know if Adam has resurrected.

We
do know that in D&C section 137

Joseph Smith saw the Heavens open
and he saw Adam, Joseph also saw his father and mother and his brother Alvin.
Now is that to say that his father and mother and brother are resurrected already?
I don’t think so…not yet at least.

President Joseph F. Smith in D&C
138 was privileged to glimpse in vision the world of the disembodied at the
time Jesus entered therein, wrote: “Among the great and mighty ones who were
assembled in this vast congregation of the righteous were Father Adam, the
Ancient of Days and father of all, “And our glorious Mother Eve, with many of
her faithful daughters who had lived through the ages and worshiped the true
and living God.”

2.
To answer your second question. Could it be
possible that Adam is the Holy Ghost?

The
official answer is “nobody knows” and “it will be revealed to us during the millennium”
but the unofficial answer is “maybe”. Here is some very interesting information
that I found that hints towards a “yes” but in the end you will have to study
and pray about it yourself and “by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the
truth of all things.”

Robert L. Millet wrote a great article called “The
Man Adam”

https://www.lds.org/ensign/1994/01/the-man-adam?lang=eng

The article says.

“Adam’s role in the eternal plan of God began in our
premortal first estate. There he was known as Michael, literally one “who is
like God.” Indeed, “by his diligence and obedience there, as one of the spirit
sons of God, he attained a stature and power second only to that of Christ, the
Firstborn. None of all our Father’s children equaled him in intelligence and
might, save Jesus only.” 1 He was “called and prepared from
the foundation of the world according to the foreknowledge of God”

The article says
Jesus Christ was referred to as “another Adam.” (1 Cor. 15) (also read “Where Justice, Love, and Mercy Meet by Jeffrey R. Holland)

Jesus Christ in D&C 19:1 referred to himself as “Alpha
and Omega” & “the beginning and the end”

Could it be possible that since Jesus is “another
Adam”, that Adam is another “Alpha and Omega” ?

Alpha, because he was “the first” man born (the beginning)
and because of his role to oversee all the generations of man and therefore
could it be possible that Adam/Michael could well be “the last” man to
resurrect after all other spirits have had the chance to come to earth?

One of Adam’s duties in his post mortal role as
father of the human race is to help prepare his posterity for the coming of the
Lord Jesus Christ

Millet in the article
says “Adam, who brought mortality and death into the world, was also permitted
to restore the power that brings immortality and life to his descendants.”

Think of the terms “Holy Ghost” and “Prophet” as
terms that could mean a single person, or it could mean multiple persons. Either way
each of them are special people that have been foreordained to these special
callings.

In the same way that Joseph Smith is “the Prophet”,
Gorden B Hinkley is “the Prophet” and Thomas is Monson is “the Prophet.” Even though there is only one man on the earth
at a single time that holds all the keys that can be called “the Prophet” each
one of these men have played their part or their role as “the Prophet” at
different times. “The Holy Ghost” could also be a role/calling term that is/was
played by a “personage of spirit”.

We know that the Holy Ghost is a member of the
Godhead. He is “a personage of Spirit” (D&C 130:22) and his job is to
testify of The Father and the Son and of all truth.

When Adam was on the earth and he had a physical
body, Jesus had not yet received a physical body and was a “personage of spirit”

So, maybe when Adam was on the earth Jesus played
the role or had the calling or office of “the Holy Ghost”

After Adam died and left his physical body, he still
was a “personage of spirit.”

When Jesus came to the earth, perhaps Adam, now separated
from his physical body as a personage of spirit had received the calling or has
been ordained to act in the office/title/role of “The Holy Ghost”

Another interesting note from the article that hints

Jesus came to Adam and provided comfort to him when
he was suffering and it is possible that Adam/Michael/ provided comfort to the
savior when he was suffering.

Three years before Adam’s death, the Lord appeared
unto Adam and his righteous posterity, “and the Lord administered comfort unto
Adam.” (D&C 107:53-56)

The article says this:

“There is one other occasion in
which Michael as a disembodied spirit may have played a particularly
significant role in the plan of our Father. Luke records that on the night of
Atonement, following the Last Supper, Jesus bowed in awful alienation and grief
in the Garden of Gethsemane beneath the load of the world’s sins. He uttered
his soul-cry: “Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me:
nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

“And there appeared an angel unto
him from heaven, strengthening him.” (Luke 22:42–43.) An angel sent from the
courts of glory. An angel sent to assist, to support, to sustain the sinless
Son of Man in the depths of his greatest agony. “The angelic ministrant is not
named,” Elder Bruce R. McConkie wrote. “If we might indulge in speculation, we
would suggest that the angel who came into this second Eden was the same person
who dwelt in the first Eden. At least Adam, who is Michael, the archangel—the
head of the whole heavenly hierarchy of angelic ministrants—seems the logical
one to give aid and comfort to his Lord on such a solemn occasion. Adam fell,
and Christ redeemed men from the fall; theirs was a joint enterprise, both
parts of which were essential for the salvation of the Father’s children.”

Now Gramps to answer your question…

If Adam was the Holy Ghost, how could it be
conferred upon himself?

Notice how scripture describes the Holy Ghost’s
falling upon Adam: “And in that day the Holy Ghost fell upon Adam, which
beareth record of the Father and the Son, saying: I am the Only Begotten of the
Father from the beginning, henceforth and forever” (Moses 5:9)

It sounds to me like was the spirit of Jesus Christ (a personage
spirit at the time) that was acting in the roll of the Holy Ghost which
testified to Adam. We know it was a personage of spirit that testified to Adam,
but what better personage to testify of the Father and Son then the SON AND THE FATHER THEMSELVES?!
Jesus Christ referred to the Holy Ghost as “my Spirit” in D&C 36:2

Does
that mean that Jesus Chris is the Holy Ghost? Not necessarily, not all the
time, at least not in the case of D&C 36:2 but in Moses 5:9 yes Jesus was
the Holy Ghost for sure because it was The Holy Ghost that was speaking and the
Holy Ghost said “I am the only Begotten of the Father.” Obviously it was Jesus Christ that was
speaking. What I think D&C 36:2 means is that The Holy Ghost is the agent
or medium whereby the Father’s truth is revealed to mankind. Whether that agent
is Jesus, Michael/Adam or some other spiritual being.

In
my opinion, when Adam was a mortal man, Jesus came to him in the roll of the
Holy Ghost and said something like this to Adam “Hey, Adam, I will be your savior, I will help redeem you
my brother from the fall, this is my father and your father, I will help you
and all of our fathers children to return back home to be his presence.”

When
Jesus was on earth as a mortal man Adam/Michael/a personage of spirit appeared
at the baptism of Christ in the form of a dove to testify this man is the
Christ. Essentially Adam/Michael/ this personage of spirit or this dove that came
down and said “Hey I know that this man is the savior, I know that he will
redeem all mankind, I know because I was with him from the beginning, I was with
him at the grand council, I was with him and worked with him at the creation of
the world, I was with him in the Garden, I am with him now, I will be with him
in Gethsemane and at the Cross so I can be a witness to everybody what I see
and I will be with him in the end. My job is to testify to you all of my
posterity from now until the time when this whole thing is over that this man is
the Christ and I will testify of these truths when I need to”

Another
thought that hit me as I was contemplating this.

Christ
is perfect, he committed no sin, he did nothing wrong, yet he had to suffer
more pain than any man on this planet. He did so because he loves us, he is our
brother and he wants us to have everlasting joy and give glory to God for providing this plan.

It’s
my understanding that waiting for resurrection is painful. The spirits in the
spirit world are “just dying” (pun intended) to be reunited with their body. I go crazy if the webpages don't load in 2 minutes. Let alone waiting 7000 years.
Perhaps if Adam because of his special calling was the first to be born and the
last to resurrect because he is the Holy Ghost (making him another Alpha and Omega because he is also a God if he is part of the Godhead) then that waiting over 7000 years, and watching all of his children and grand children and great great great (to whatever power) grandchildren on earth be born, make mistakes, reject the gospel, that would cause him pain, great pain, maybe it was a pain “second only to that of Christ.”

If
God our Heavenly father is the highest, and Jesus Christ is right after him, and
then Adam is “second only to that of Christ in intelligence and might” If the
Holy Ghost is not Adam, then what rank would that make the holy ghost?
I can’t understand how the Holy Ghost could be anybody else but Adam.

We
know that the Godhead is God, Jesus and the Holy Ghost. Who else can the Holy
Ghost be but Adam?

As
I said in the beginning this is all just my opinion and not official doctrine
of the church and nobody really knows but it will be revealed to us during the millennium
I do want to add my testimony that I know that

Adam,
the Holy Ghost and Jesus Christ all have essential parts in the plan of
Salvation and that I am grateful to each
one of them for the part they have played to help us return home to our father.

The answer although logical still leaves much unsaid. As Adam may or could of become the holy Ghost at a later stage and perhaps someone else was acting as the Holy Ghost when Adam received it. If Michael helped create the world with Jehova than why not make up the God head as the third member or the holy Ghost.

I am just speculating and have no idea. I was under the impression that adam was a ressurected personage and had come forth in the firstfruits of the resurrection when jess Christ descended into the spirit world.
