oxford defines it Dislike of or prejudice against homosexual people., so even disliking it is homophobic. So its not a far leap to get from not liking/approving to homphobia when the chnging definitions indicate that a dislike of something is phobic

You might be overlooking many scriptures that are very clean on the subject, such as how the effeminate shall not enter heaven (1 Cor. 6:9), and all the scriptures on unnatural affection. For the more direct scriptures on the subject, there is always Leviticus 18:22, and the event of how God wiped out Sodom and Gamorrah for homosexuality, which nobody ever really wants to discuss anymore. The scriptures are VERY clearly defined as to where God stands on this issue. We need to quit looking for a "modern relaxation of the rules".

Let's clarify this problematic word, "homophobia". Phobia means "fear of", not "hatred for". The word "phobia" itself has been hijacked in recent years into political hyperbole to label anyone who doesn't agree with it. It's like calling someone "racist" for not voting for a black president regardless of disagreement with the candidate's actual policies, or calling someone a "climate denier" by pointing out that no solid science is behind global warming claims. "Homophobia" would be the fear of homosexuality, not necessarily the hatred of it. So to clarify - just because someone strongly dislikes the taste of a tomato in their hamburger doesn't mean they're "tomatophobic". They do not fear the tomato - they just have a strong aversion to it based on taste, which they are rightly entitled to. There is a huge difference.
