					<description><![CDATA[I am the only one in my family who is LDS and the gatherings were difficult in the beginning.  I was able to have a heart-to-heart with my parents at different times along with my siblings.  I let them know that I respect them for their beliefs and don&#039;t expect them to change any more than I would hope they&#039;d respect me and not try to change me or my beliefs.  I am not saying this will work, people are people but, what I am saying is you can voice your stand when offered alcohol or a cigarette or choose not to be there when they are indulging if it&#039;s bothersome or you can cement your resolve to not participate in the indulgence while visiting.  My family over the 21 years I&#039;ve been a member not only stopped trying to convince me they&#039;ve embraced my differences with tolerance.]]></description>
