I know there is a lot of concerns about this but if everyone would stop and think for a minute. What else can we sacrifice in order to pay the tithe without worrying if we cannot pay the bills? For instance, do we really need cable tv, nice cell phones with high payments, cars that you really cannot afford or a great big house, etc? But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

There's a BIG difference between bills like for groceries, mortgage, light and heat, and bills like for Netflix, cable TV, cellphones and credit cards for going out to eat, video games, boat payments, etc. I have ALWAYS found enough money for necessities after paying tithing. But God will not enable an extravagant lifestyle.

I find the responses to this question bizzare. It couldn't happen here in the UK . Firstly you would have social workers accusing you of neglect and secondly if you are between jobs and have no income, the money you receive from the government is carefully means tested and you only get as much as you need for basics. If you were then found to have paid some of that money for tithing or for any other thing that doesn't apply to your obligations you would have your money stopped altogether for misuse. Basically the law in the UK doesn't care what church or group you belong to. Unless you have private income and don't need to claim financial assistance you can't be using any of it to tithe. I get quite cross with some of the responses, they are mostly l only applicable to the USA. It is like marrying in the Temple, it is not recognised in the UK without a civil marriage first . Why? because the law says all marriages must be open to any one, who wants to protest.

Could you imagine giving your obligation to the God of Heaven less importance than to your gas company, for instance? One would think the Lord would not cut us off from his love for lack of payment, I can assure you the gas company will cut you off for non payment, the guys at the gas station will not let yo pump gas on faith they also require cash.
