Remember that the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. My husband has to take medication and must have food with it. I have severe hypoglycemia and cannot ever miss a meal. So I for one, can never fast. But, I can still observe the spirit of the fast. For example; instead of enjoying a hamburger or steak sandwich on a fast Sunday, I can eat a peanut butter one instead, and still be nourished with enough protein. I look for the things I CAN do, since I can't abstain from food. Anyone else in this situation is still loved by the Lord and their limited sacrifice is still accepted by Him.
