Never have had a bad bishop. Had several who were complained about. Callings were merely one of several subjects used for complaints. The "walk a mile in his shoes" crowd were hard to listen to because they were particularly unlikely to give credit for careful decisions done in the interests of individuals best interests. Many of the things that are done with prayer, or fasting and prayer, are things that cannot be talked about without harming some of the people involved.

Explaining yourself, so as to be popular with those that complain, must be a constant temptation. It is rare because such a great majority of bishops put the interests of the individuals and the ward and the church ahead of fleeting popularity.

Am not saying bishops are perfect, not even close, merely saying few of us realize how much love and care go into things most of us would take for granted. If for us mortals perfection is a process instead of a place than bishops get a crash course.
