COMPARE D&C 84:1-5 ----- same promise only a different temple --- the temple in the city of the new Jerusalem --- pay close attention to verses 4 & 5 --- the temple is to be built in THIS GENERATION --- this prophesy was received sept. 22 & 23 in 1832 in kirtland --- every person living at that time have long been dead and no temple has been built! that generation and many others have come and gone . Shall we cry false prophet ? --- before we do compare Mathew chapt. 24:27-34 ---- these verses proclaim the signs of christ's coming that have not yet been fulfilled -- with the same great proclamation as josepth's in verse 34 ---------- this generation shall not pass till all these things be fulfilled --- so if we label joseph smith a false prophet then we must do the same here --- which would be a huge mistake ----- both of these prophets are true ! what we learn here is that they weren't declaring the generation of man but rather the generation of this last dispensation --- and as surely as Christ is the Savior of all man-kind so shall these prophesy's be fulfilled in their own due time !
