The great truth that people are angels and angels are people was lost in the apostasy, so this type of declaration would baffle many people. The restored gospel teaches that we lived with Heavenly Father before we were born, we became separated from him for this earthly experience, and we will continue existing after this life is over as a disembodied spirit, and then as a resurrected individual. But it is all still us. An angel can be an individual who has not yet been born, or who has already died and awaiting resurrection, or has already been resurrected, depending entirely on when the Lord requires them to perform an angelic mission. Many people view angels as a separate type of creation, whose sole role is to serve in heaven. This is not accurate. In the broader sense, if we refer to Michael as an Angel (which the scriptures do) then we were also all angels at that same point in time, because we were in the same phase of our eternal development (although Michael was appointed to his role because of his particular attributes, just as we are).
