It might readily be said that many beliefs of all Churches and deno9minations may be said to be preposterous by non believers in them.

Provided that a speaker tells the truth and then has the strength of character not to condemn others for believing what might to him to appear be preposterous there can be no objection.

We can discuss doctrines of others with whcih we disagree, buit it is best only to show by the scriptures that God teaches us otherwise.

We should always be kind to other believers of all faiths regardless of our personal feelings about some of their rites and doctrines.

I think it can depend on the intent of the speaker / teacher. I hope to never hear a talk/lesson whose purpose is challenging another faith, but sometimes we need to make contrasts. Joseph Smith's recollection of the First Vision in our scriptures says that no other church on earth is true and that their creeds were an abomination in the sight of the Lord. As Eric said, we don't always know who is in our meetings and should be careful not to offend if possible (some people are looking for offense, or take offense at straightforward declarations so an offended person does not necessarily prove a speaker was in the wrong).
