Jesus is praying to his Father for his Apostles, as far as I can tell there was no other person in the 12 that he could have called the son of perdition.

11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be bone, as we are.

12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is blost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. John 17:11-12

He clearly wasn’t interested in the money since he threw it on the ground and then hanged himself. I think he had a faulty understanding of what Christ would do and then when things changed he realized what happened and couldn’t live with it. Peter was almost certainly asked to deny Christ. This is simply because it made Christ’s legal “trial” totally invalid. There were no actual witnesses for or against. Peter would not have denied otherwise. Maybe the same for Judas?
