We live the gospel on the earth because this life is our time to prepare to meet God. We only have one mortal life and God gave it to us to learn how to become more like Him. Knowing about the gospel in this life give us so much an advantage to practice living a God-like life before we return to His kingdom someday. God has provided a way for those who do not know about or who are unable to accept the gospel in this life to learn about it in the next. That opportunity is not for those who know the gospel is true in this life and simply reject it because they are too lazy to keep the commandments. Salvation is about who we become, not what we know. So the reason we “do all this” on earth is because it helps us become what we need to in order to live with God.
