Gramps gives great advice here. For some people and for whatever reason it may not be the easiest to read your scriptures first thing in the morning. I tend to do my scripture reading in the evening before going to bed. Sometimes in the afternoon. I tend to do better with focusing later in the day. I think the important thing is to strive to read them daily at a time of day that works best for you. And be kind and gentle to yourself. Your Heavenly Father loves you and doesn't want you to torture yourself.

I read at night before I go to bed. Why is that so weird? I usually get a weird response when I say that I read and pray before bed. In the morning, I can only handle a verse or two.

I have been prompted to not sleep in for the very same reason, to read scriptures, several times. I have managed to do this, even as a teenager. I do not thiink this behaviour constitutes torture. It is difficult but very attainable even for a young person. I vote to keep trying.
