I have dark hair and olive skin. My father, whom I never met, was from South America and I heard he claimed his lineage was from Spain and he had a Spanish surname. My patriarchal blessing said I was mixed blood and the predominate lineage was Ephraim. I concluded that I was probably all European descent--Tribe of Ephraim, Spanish surname, father claimed he was Spanish descent. I recently had my DNA tested and I was about 2% Spanish and nearly a quarter Native American. I have known people who are less Native American than I am who are of Manasseh. I don't think that Lamanite and Manasseh or synonymous. I had a friend who was from Manasseh and wasn't aware that she was Native American. I also knew a Jew who was from Ephraim in her Patriarchal Blessing. I believe we are a mixture and we get the blessing of the tribe in our Patriarchal Blessing.
