I know very little about Reiki and don't care to know much more.

Gramps doesn't address Reiki specifically however he certainly implies it is false and of the devil. The idea that spiritual energy can only be accessed through church or some other "approved" channel is strange.

We are spiritual more than we are physical. Do you not think our spirit has some influence over our physical condition?

There is so much more to existence than we understand currently.

Please be careful! Reiki is not good. My very good friend and active member of the church is a Reiki master. I let her do a couple of sessions on me. She said a prayer and played hymns to begin the session. Within minutes she was casting out evil spirits. That should have been my clue to leave but out of fear of not offending her I stayed. I had a very bad experience and after I left I felt nothing but confusion and fear. My husband had to give me a priesthood blessing and in that blessing I was warned to stay away from it as it was not good.

People really need to understand the claims made behind energy healing and use the scriptures to teach them truth. With any energy healing modality, the energy healer claims to be able to tap into Christ's power, without Priesthood authority, to heal. In fact my friend told me during my Reiki session that she had to step aside so the "spirits" in the room could work on me. I learned later that those spirits did not come from a heavenly source. Remember Satan can a does appear as an angel of light to deceive.

Latter-day revelation confirms the biblical teaching that the devil is a reality and that he does strive to lead men and women from the work of God. One of the major techniques of the devil is to cause human beings to think they are following God’s ways, when in reality they are deceived by the devil to follow other paths.
