We discuss with them the importance of building their testimonies, and faith up now. Whether they experience any of that time period or not, it is the appropriate thing to do to prepare for anything in life. We always remind them how very much Heavenly Father loves us individually, and that while lots of things are hard in this life – as that scripture given in the answer says, all things will work together for our good.

I was told as a very young man in a Sunday school class by my Bishop that Jesus Christ would return by end of the century (2000). I realize today it was just his opinion and that I was stupid to believe him, but still I resent being lied to as a child about such matters. I do believe we are in the last days, but I also believe that time has no importance to God. And no one knows when Christ will return. And those that predict his return are on a fool’s errand.
