Just reading this makes me angry that adult children from wealthy families don't even have to think of how to fund their education. It is only the lower paid and disadvantaged who have this dilemma.

Not all church leaders have had advanced degrees... Pres. Hinkley graduated college at 22, served a mission, then worked for the church most of the rest of his life.

Another question about earthly education.....how much farther ahead would I be with advanced education in the next life? In this life the administrative callings in the Church seem to go to those with advanced educations. I know I have not been able to take advantage of affordable education for many insurmountable reasons. I don't make a livable wage, yet I work very hard and make many contributions and help change lives for the better. Will I be penalized or held back in the next life because I cannot afford an education or cannot stay healthy working 60 hours a week and going to school too? I do feel isolated from the main body of the Church because I don't have the same financial means as others. I cannot participate in giving away money, and cannot afford a large fast offering. I'm a single female. I worry constantly that lack of achievement in this life will hold me back in t he next. Its lack of achievement in this life that keeps me distant from people in my Ward and Stake and hence feelings of never fitting in. The hard part is the high IQ and academic talent that has been entirely wasted. I really cannot serve others in the Church because I work so hard and so many hours that the rest of the time I am recovering from the hard labor or otherwise resting so I can endure the hardship of the kind of labor I do. Im really scared about the next life and have never been able to come to a peace with my life. I could never support a family or spouse and barely survive financially myself. One day goes into the next and the next and it seems like prison on earth.
