The Catholic Church was invented by the Romans.

If the Church is about Jesus Christ and he is the way, should not the religion and church be called after him.

Should not his followers be called Ieshuans?

Why take the false names? Why take the translations? Jesus was not his name? Christ was not his name any more than Caeser was the name of the Roman Emperors.

If the Church really wants to get back to its roots, it should discard everything that came from Rome…including the anti-Christ Saul of Tarsus.

Why does the LDS use a Bible created by Romans who used Ieshua and his teachings not to find and spread peace but to spread empire, war, conquest, rapine and pillage?

This makes no sense and proves to me that LDS is either as false as the other Churches or as misguided.

Why does anyone need Paul to tell them what the Christ meant when, supposedly, they can read his life and his words in the Gospels. Nearly every evil that has come out of Christianity can be traced back to the message of Paul.

1. The catholic church’s history is found in history books, but not scripture.
2. The poetic Nicene Creed is in direct conflict with even the most simple biblical doctrines.
3. The catholic church is a Roman system of government that replaced the original church after Rome spent 300 years persecuting the original church into extinction (The Pope’s actual official title, “Pontificus Maximus”, just so happens to be the adopted title of the Emperor of Rome.
4. The catholic church’s history is the most well-documented bloodbath in world history – irrefutable evidence of the savior NOT being it’s origin or head.
5. The catholic church claims to be the original church dating back to Peter, and yet the Bible itself states that the true church of the last days would be a restored church that is directly restored from heaven by an angel. This creates huge problems for any church claiming to be the original church back to the time of Peter.
And last but not least:
Back when the church was far more inclined to speak bold truth instead of increasingly softening it’s doctrine under modern social pressures, the temple endowment used to show satan leading the posterity of Adam astray by way of catholic priests. Just some food for thought.

Well, to be fair, Robert, the offices of “area president”, “third counselor in the First Presidency”, and many other positions are nowhere to be found in the scriptures. The Fact is there matter is that Latter-day Saints don’t rely solely on the Standard Works for our doctrine, and neither do Catholics.

I have no regrets. My husband and I both joined when we were in our early twenties. My family and I have been very blessed by the temple ordinances, and in many other ways. But Gramps, there is one thing you don’t know about Catholics. They do believe their church is the only true church, but they will recognize any other church’s baptism as a gate to salvation. They will also allow parents to baptize their own infant child if no priest is to be found. The reason for this is that they believe newborn children are punished for the original sin and can’t go to heaven unless they are baptized. They have created a place called “Limbo” for unbaptized babies and heathens who never knew Christ. Latter Day Saints on the other hand, believe that “Men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam’s transgression.” We also believe that small children are innocent before God until the age of eight, when they begin to know right and wrong. The Lord has been so gracious to help us understand that the atonement of Christ covers all those who die without the Law.
