					<description><![CDATA[If a man has held the Melchizedek Priesthood and then goes inactive for several years does he still have the priesthood?  Does he still have the powers to lay on of hands to heal the sick or give blessings to his family?  Just wondering because I have been recently divorced and temporarily not going to this church.]]></description>

					<description><![CDATA[Several years ago in a meeting between our Stake Presidency and all the bishopric it was explained that because of the Oath and Covenant associated with the Melchizedek Priesthood, holders of that priesthood are under a covenant responsibility to attend priesthood meetings. The sisters have no such covenant responsibility. All baptized members are under covenant to attend Sacrament Meeting and partake of the Sacrament regularly. We were specifically told not to substitute &quot;Relief Society&quot; for &quot;Priesthood&quot; during Temple recommend interviews.]]></description>
