It bothered me for many years to think that our heavenly Father “lost” 33% of his spirit children right out of the gate, that being cast out of heaven meant forever damned, as MacConkie opined.

Recently I stumbled upon Jude 1:6, which I think is a better source than Elder MacConkie. Today, teaching the Gospel Principles class, lesson 11, sentence 1: “Every person who comes to earth depends on Jesus Christ to fulfill the promise He made in heaven to be our Savior.” What do you think it means? “Every” includes both embodied and unembodied spirits, no?

Could 1,000 or 6,000 years under the bondage of Sin help them “come to [themselves]”, repent and obey? Like those souls who require a test run through hell during the Millennium to finally turn to the Savior in repentance and real intent and receive a Telestial heavenly reward…?

What sort of God would author a Plan of Happiness that is calculated to redeem and/or bring maximum joy to every one of His children? (D&C 88:32-33)

Not just choice 1 or choice 2. If you have to choose Satan or Jesus is that really a choice? That would mean you were being forced. What about choosing neither? Maybe you are happy the way and where you are.
So one part follows Satan, one part follows Jesus and the third part chooses something else.
Brigham never said he received revelation from God stating it was 1/3 and 2/3 rds.
