Someone should have told Joseph Smith and hyrum about the handbook. They weren’t wearing their garments when they were killed and John Taylor said they weren’t wearing them on account of the heat. So, hey, in Phoenix, in 110 degree weather, do as Brother Joseph did.

I really appreciate this reminder. For me, it’s a reminder to look inward and toward my Heavenly Father when I have questions. We have been given tools and guidance on how to return home. Scriptures, Church Handbooks, Conference, etc. If we seek hard enough, we’ll be given our answers. Even if it is in an unexpected place like a posting answering another’s questions. …

For any who experience this challenge and would prefer to wear the garment without taking a 'break' (as you put it) the cotton one piece garments have a conveniently placed, um, access panel? but it leaves all of the markings where they are supposed to be while leaving the affected body parts more exposed to air and away from fabric that will retain moisture/yeast/bacteria etc.
