Timey-wimey wibbly wobbly stuff. Nothing is quite as old as it seems, or it's more old than it seems. Rather hard to tell when all things in our universe are eternal. Matter can neither be created or destroyed, it only changes form. What do we know about how old rock really is?

Where in the Holy Bible does it mention the Earth being baptized by water, and will later be baptized by fire? I know I've read it in the Old Testamemt somewhere, but I can't remember where. I remember it was worded kind of funny and took some real brain stretching, but I know it's there. Please help?

It would be a great idea if the flood actually occurred. The flood story, at the time indicated in the bible, is an allegory. It did not physically happen in the time period. If there was a great flood, it happened 1,000's and 1,000's of years before the time line in the bible. I can accept this without it destroying my faith.

I've used this principle many times with evangelicals and born-again Christians to help them understand the relevance of Joseph Smith as a prophet of God. For they too, understand that the flood was a baptism of the earth. I tell them, Noah was the prophet who warned the earth a few hundred years before the earth's baptism by water. Joseph Smith was the prophet who warned the earth a few hundred years before the earth's baptism by fire. No one has been able to refute the logic.
