I always tell them, YES! I DO NOT believe in the modern-day evangelical caricature of Jesus Christ, which has been altered and distorted by 2000 years of personal agendas, corrupt leaders, doctrinal alterations, supposition, guesswork and false mythology. I believe in the actual Jesus Christ who walked this earth 2000 years ago and in the real doctrine and church in which He organized. I then go on and ask when did Christ ever give permission for the organization of the Church to change? When did He say that it was all right to do away with the 12 apostles? When did He say that it was all right to change the manner of baptism? I can go on and on. They can believe in their corrupt version if they want to. Doesn't affect me and my salvation in the least.
