What is the reason for no rainbows appearing in the sky for a year before the Lord comes?

Dear Gramps

I have heard several times that there will be no rainbows for a period of time before the Saviour comes again. I know this is one of the small things, but I wonder why that would be if it is true? There are many symbols and the rainbow was used as a covenant between the Lord and Noah. What might be the reason for no rainbows?
