I would only add what the Lord stated to Joseph Smith in Joseph Smith History 1:19, which I think is an official statement not only about the Nicene creed but any other doctrine that was created without revelation from God - ...“they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof.”

I believe the intentions of those involved in the formation of the Nicene creed had good intentions and were trying their best to clarify God's word. But they did this without revelation, without the keys of the priesthood to receive and pronounce doctrine. As such, they were "teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." It was the best they could do, but if only using reason and logic to determine God's doctrine, you will inevitably end up with philosophies or commandments that are man made.
