This is a subject that I just started researching. I was going to ask a question about it, but I used the search function and found it had already been addressed.
I stay away from anti Mormon sites because I know they are simply hell bent on proving something is false. At the same time I don't want to rely on only Church resources, because they are slanted in just the opposite direction. I want to go to the source materials and then decide for myself. Our religion is based on gaining knowledge. I don't believe suggesting that the subject matter is trival, is a path to gaining knowledge. I find it odd that all of the source materials used by Joseph Smith are missing. I remember when the fragments were discovered and I believed they would confirm my beliefs. But the fragments found certainly do not confirm the Book of Abraham. And it is not a trival matter. It seems that such an important document about the life of Abraham would have been preserved? I find it odd that it wasn't protected and guarded.
