Perhaps you are at the pinnacle, but perhaps there is a reason for that.

Do you regularly go out of your way to lengthen your stride within the callings you’ve had?

Do you volunteer for extra assignments?

Do you try to do more than is expected of you by your church leaders?

If the answer is yes, and you honestly feel that you’ve done throughout your time in the church all you can to do the best you can with in your calling, that I’m sure the Lord is quite pleased and you’ve done exactly as the Lord has asked.

however I have noticed that in most Wards there is a small group of people who are willing to dedicate their time and talents and put their whole heart into the work. There are many members but there are few members who are truly willing to sacrifice above and beyond.

I think the old economics 80-20 Pareto rule applies in the church 80% of the work must be done by 20% of the people. But the 20% of the people who are willing to dedicate their time and talents to building the Lord’s Kingdom and serving their brothers and sisters also tend to be the ones who the Lord will and Trust greater responsibility to.

if you feel that the Lord has not utilize you to your capacity humbly ask yourself have you made yourself available

By the answers given I fully expect that I have risen as far as I am going to in the Church as I am without riches, without University/College degree, 63 and no callings for around 35 years. I am assistant ward mission leader and that is the height of my callings I guess. Is it unreasonable to expect more? By what people have said, I am at the pinnacle of my service. Learn to accept it?

Blue collar, white collar, Black, white, Big, small. I don’t care about any of that.The Lord is at the helm and he will not allow our leaders to fail us. HE, will not fail us and That’s all that matters to me.

My current bishop is a rancher. My last bishop works at a gold mine. My bishop before that who went on to stake president and then to mission president is also a rancher. And the one before that works in a juvenile probation centre.

One of the best Stake Presidents I had worked in the lube bay of a car repair shop. He spent his workday every day under people’s cars doing a lube and oil change. The only time he was in a suit and tie was when he had Stake business to take care of. I always felt a little funny having the Stake President under my car changing my oil, but I was a regular customer anyway.

So, why does he not call them then, graphs, that didn’t answer the question, that only explained that they could, but don’t? Although my father ways just called to be bishop, 73 years old and still working as a brick mason!

For today’s church, which is so big and has so many enterprises and business ventures, it truly requires men with extensive executive and business experience. Finding such men who not only have strong testimonies, but also have the apostolic witness is no easy thing! Back in the time of the Savior’s mortal ministry, no such executive experience was needed. Just the witness. And so the Lord freely called “Joe the Plummer” types, like Peter, James and John, simple fishermen more than adequate for the calling at the time.

If I’m not mistaken, President Monson was a printer. And Elder Packer, who right up until his death was the acting president of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, was a teacher.

My Stake President owns a tire store, his counselors are both farmers.
