The question should be why was the comma added to D&#038;C 89:13, and why hasn&#039;t it been removed if it is incorrect or misplaced. Might it have been added to clarify rather than to confuse the verse. 

I read D&#038;C 49:18 as saying that those who forbid man to eat meat, are not of God. It doesnt&#039; say that man should eat meat in abundance. In fact D&#038;C 49:21 says &quot;And wo be unto man that sheddeth blood or that wasteth flesh and hath no need.&quot; In essense, eat meat if you must; those that forbid to eat meat are not of God. 

I would follow up this discussion with the question of will there ever be a time when man will not eat meat?]]></description>
