Protestant and Roman Catholic churches also accept each other's baptism as long as it is by the pouring of water and signing of the child or person in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Apart from that they go onto Confirmation later when they are old enough to understand. I don't think many mainstream Christians know much about LDS belief. Most people I have spoken with still assume there is polygamy practised and that seems to be the extent of their knowledge. It would be good to spell out the LDS belief in Christ Jesus, so there would be no confusion.
