"And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night". Luke 2:8. Jesus is the lamb of God. It is not fantastic to believe he was born during lambing season.

Date when we celebrate his birth is not as important as that we do celebrate the amazing and astonishing gift of our Lord and Redeemer. Our common enemy is waging a war against even the symbol of Christmas. In the way of the world it has become a celebration of giving and receiving "things" rather than the gift of the good news.

There is a tiny core of selfishness that says we want to get things at Christmas. The only to successfully overcome this is be aware of how in creditably much we have been given. We actually need to count our blessings. We need to be aware of them all, both the great and the small. We need to count our many blessings to be aware of all that the Lord has done that we might have Joy.
