Why would Heavenly Father approve of many different denominations, each teaching different doctrines that disagree and contradict each other? (baptism by sprinkling or by immersion?, saved by grace or by works? etc.) How would anybody KNOW the correct and proper course for returning to heaven? Which was the one Christ originally taught when he was on the earth? After the original 12 apostles were killed, local leaders were left to their own devices as to what to teach. Some over time favored some doctrines, and de-emphasized or abandoned others. Still others yielded to social or civic pressure to change doctrines into ones that were more accommodating to local traditions and customs. After a few decades, the true, original path for man as taught by Christ was lost. After a few hundred years, all types of churches had sprung up. The world was plunged into the Dark Ages. Today there are over 300,000 different Christian denominations, each teaching different doctrines and ordinances. This is why Heavenly Father had to restore the one and only true and living church upon the earth. In preparation for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
