Kristen,

Nephi quoted Isaiah from the brass plates because those prophecies were of great importance to us in the latter-days. You must also remember that what the Lord says to ONE, He says to ALL. Especially, when it is of great worth to our salvation. It is for that reason I find it as no surprise that scriptures from Isaiah and other Bible prophets show up in the Book of Mormon. Notice even the Savior quotes from the Bible in 3 Nephi with some variation.

This is just my humble opinion, but rather than worry if the text is plagiarized, seek to understand why it is there in the Book of Mormon to begin with. You can be assured Joseph Smith didn't understand all the relevance of those chapters to our day when the Book of Mormon was being translated, either. Remember that even for the prophet of God learning comes line upon line, precept upon precept. We are no different in that respect.

A better question would be why 2 Nephi doesn't match up with the Dead Sea Scrolls translation of Isaiah. This means that the Bible with the book of Isaiah would have already been changed/corrupted by Christ's time... and then not changed again over the next 1900+ years.
