If he’s cut himself off from the Church voluntarily, as Gramps has pointed out, he’s already accomplished being ‘cut off’, and NOT in a way that ANY Church disciplinary council would intend, wherein, even if the appropriate outcome is excommunication, it’s with the idea that this fellow is in need of repentance and having his membership and covenants taken away is the best means to accomplished that end…what it’s NEVER for is to satisfy his aggrieved ex-wife’s understandable anger and hurt over being abandoned.
